Like a Jog Bra

emily_thumbnail.JPGSometimes you put others in front of yourself and find great joy in helping out. In this podcast, I pull duty as support vehicle and, like a jog bra, I'm there for my female counterpart as she engages in her athletic endevours. Join us as Kai co-hosts, I learn to love my job, and Emily reaches her limits in the Texas heat.
I'm finding that the show's followers really enjoy the short paragraph and then hyperlinked show notes, so here you go -

What to bring with you if you are bike support.

Death Wings (so hot you have to sign your life away a release form) and Rogue Dead Guy Ale at Harvey Washbanger's burger joint and laundrymat.

Emily is training for the Texas Man Oly distance race in Dallas.

There ARE more commuters on bikes these days!

Hurricane surfing. (Link to wave height and direction animation. Sometimes over 30 feet!)

24 hour triathlon racing. Yes, for real.

Voice mails about Harvey Birdman and the Employee Orientation Video.

The Chicago Triathlon.

How wide-weave carbon fiber isn't what it seems.

Round-up of cool triathlon vehicles.

San Diego, the Triathlon Dreamscape

Hey there, all you triathlon homies! I just got back from a week in Triathlon Mecca; San Diego. I compiled a ton of audio and published a podcast about my adventures, which I'm sure you'll enjoy. Below are my shownotes so you can have a quick guide to the topics covered:

Interview with Jdub - I sit down with fellow Triscooper Jdub and we chat for half an hour over beer about all things triathlon. Includes great perspectives on being a pro triathlete, how to deal with significant others, Xterra racing, and how to split up bar tabs.

Swimming in the Pro Lane - Jdub takes me to experience the main ingredient of being a pro-level swimmer: San Diego triathlon swim practice at the North County YMCA. I dish on what I thought of the practice and how I survived.

Industry news - Boeing is taking all our carbon fiber!

Music - Pendulum Swings by the Toasters. This is Ska Music, a true San Diego tradition! Procured from Music.podshow.com
How to Succeed in Evil - This is a great audio book in podcast format available from Podiobooks.com. It's free and there's lots more titles available.

Cool method to keep your swim workouts handy while in the pool - Check out this getup I rigged for Huck's swim

practices. Somebody needs to invent water bottles you can slide papers into.

100_1244.JPGI also request of you a momentary pause to honor the passing of my iRiver. So functional, yet such a POS. This is the little board of circuits that I recorded so many shows on and now it's dead. We'll miss you, you infernal silicone crap molding. Ebay, here I come!
