The Bamboo Room (Forum) > 2010 Race Plans - What's the plan!?

Hey all! Just wanted to spark a thread and see what everyone's 2010 is starting to look like.

So far for me the only thing I have on my calendar is the Calfornia 70.3 in late March. I've been eyeballing the local time trial series, and considering a few sprints, and perhaps a repeat at the Orange County International. Maybe a half mary...

OFF ROAD, BABY! I'm gonna take the wicked mtnbike skillz you saw on display in SoCal and do some Xterra and straight up mtnbike racing. Haven't picked out any races yet. I think I'll go look and post back here what I find.

Good idea! maybe I'll look into the xterra series races here. There is one over next to Poway on Black Mountain that I learned about from Jessi Stensland.

I just looked at some races around here and realized that I could wreck really badly trying to race on a new bike. I think I need a few months of saddle time on the Durango before I try anything serious on it.

Weird thing - some mountain bike races don't even name the distances. "Two laps". What's that?

I am doing the Beaver freezer triathlon in April and then off to Cascade Creampuff, a 100 mile mountain bike race in Oakridege. The Cream Puff is 100 mi. long, includes 18,000 feet of climbing

Drew, who names those things? The Beaver Freezer? sounds like a strange porn title ;-)

"A" race for 2010 Ironman Muskoka70.3 (sept2010). The rest of the season leading up to it will be a mix of fun trail races and some Olympic distance Tri races (Hell of the North, Summer Solstice, Summer Epic8, Guelph Olympic Tri and Goderich Olympic Tri. The Muskoka course and setting is stunning, well worth the drive if anybody is withn car-commute. If anyone is planning on being anywhere near Southern Ontario (Canada) at all in 2010, drop my a line and will do some training. Keep Rising.

Here comes 2010!
May 16th - Green Bay Marathon - Finishing at Lambeau Field, will Brett Favre have decided if he is coming back for another season or not, who cares now, let the Minnesota Fans deal with that.
July 18th - Door County 70.3
August/September - Marathon #2 for 2010 - undecided on which one, maybe travel somewhere nice?
Rest of my season will be sandwiched with small Sprint and/or Olympic Tris.
